Summertime Family Home Evening: Hot Dogs, Marshmallows and Sparklers

Photobucket
I thought it would be fun to share with you the pictures I took at our dinner/Family Home Evening activity this Monday

Photobucket
then I looked at the faces in several of these pictures

Photobucket
I promise we were having fun

Photobucket
no, really. Even Tyler.

Photobucket
Britt's happy when he has his Mountain Dew

Photobucket
Cole is just thinking hard about roasting hot dogs

Photobucket
and Rachel is wondering if I am going to notice she is wearing Olivia's flip flops (the ones that barely fit Olivia)

Photobucket
Fun (just disregard Tyler's expression)

Photobucket
Is it ready yet?

Photobucket
Does this photo look staged? (And who is that in the pink? Isn't she usually behind the camera?)

Photobucket
marshmallow time!

I haven't played with sparklers in forever! I can't believe we haven't made that a 4th of July tradition. We will definitely have to get some and some fireworks to add to our celebration this year. These were some old fireworks my parents gave me.

It was really fun to spend some time together as a family. Thanks, Britt for coming up with the idea to roast hot dogs and marshmallows. I was kind of uninspired about what to do for Family Home Evening since I went to an exercise class at 7:00. I think it was an excellent dinner and activity. It was a really fun evening, even if my girls kept running up the fence to talk to the Nielson kids about what we were doing for Family Home Evening. It made it kind of hard for me to get pictures of my girls with the sparklers when they kept running away with them to show the Nielsons in their back yard (through the fence). Silly kids.

Lol, oh man this really made me laugh! Especially Tyler's face in the group shot! I am sure they did have lots of fun, who wouldn't have fun having a hot dog roast? The sparkler pictures are cool, I am going to have to try that!e
